Mitt Romney So Good?

I’m sitting here at my desk, in my dorm room, listening to the girls in the rooms surrounding me shriek, struggling with the age old question… What am I going to do when I graduate college?

It’s a tough-y.

And I had this overwhelming urge to write, so I decided, Hey. Let’s blog. Lucky you.

Mitt Romney came to mind. Not quite sure why, but it might have to do with the Republican Presidential Candidate discussion I had in my Problems with American Democracy class today. Quite surprisingly, it seems that most of the class would classify themselves as Republicans (or at least don’t like Obama). That put quite a smile on my face, I must admit.

Anyways… Mitt Romney. Interesting little article in the Washington Post on him today. It’s about him changing his ideology about abortion.

This is one of the problems that I have with Romney: he can’t seem to make up his mind. OR. He is just a crowd pleaser. Either one is negative in my eyes.

Massachusetts, normally, tends to be more liberal than the whole of American. Massachusettian Republicans are more liberal than, lets say, North Carolinian Republicans. So, it would only make sense that their governor would be on the more liberal side because he would be forced to try to connect with the issues the people care the most about.

But the ideals that he stood for in Massachusetts, more liberal or not, are not the ideals that most Republicans stand for.

Here are a few examples: RomneyCare, gay marriage, abortion.

As Governor, Romney established state-run healthcare (no thank you), stood for Pro-Choice values (although the article says that he later became pro-life; however, he did not try to pass pro-life legislation), and advocated for gay marriage (he is STILL pro-gay marriage).

But now, as a Republican Presidential candidate, he has become Pro-Life and has backed away from his state-run health care (even if minimally).

I don’t know y’all. I just get a bad feeling from him. I’m not sure why he is so popular. I’m not sure why people like him. Yes, the polls are showing that he might be more popular than Obama. But will our country really be in better hands with Romney as our President? I think if people paid enough attention to his past, they would see that he is not the conservative leader we need.

Just my opinion.

The top RPCs (abbreviated) that we guessed would receive the nomination in my class today were (shockingly!) Mitt Romney, Rick Perry, and Newt Gingrich (I threw that one in there. He’s rising in the polls!). The candidates people would like to see receive the nomination were Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, and Rick Perry. Personally, I don’t know if I really care for any of them. I’m pushing for Rick Santorum, but he’s not doing so hot. We shall see.

Have a great week!!! 😀

Reagan on Democrats

Got this clip in an email from my Grandpa. (Thanks Gramps!) And I thought, “I just HAVE to share that with those nice folks who follow my blog.”
And so here I am doing just that. I hope you all find it funny. If you don’t, then there is just something seriously wrong with you.

Let’s Blame Bush Again!

Is Obama not grown-up enough to understand that he cannot blame Bush for all of his problems?

Oh so high and mighty President Barrack Obama has been blaming the previous administration for every single economic problem that has plagued our country.

So, now it’s getting on my nerves to the point where I am going to blog about it, so that everyone can know just exactly how I feel.

Here we go. As always I do have a article for you.

I don’t know what y’all think, but the title says it all for me. “Obama PLEADS for Patience on Economic Recovery.”

Patience, Obama?  Really? Honestly? You’re serious? Pah-lease.

Of course he is serious. The dude, excuse me, the Mr. Dude President expects us to 1) bow down before him like he is the savior, 2) believe all the lies that emit from the hole in his face, 3) trust that he is competent enough to run this GREAT country, and 4) wait around for him to do whatever he dern well pleases.

Uuuuummmmm, no thank you?

I am done pretending he is the greatest thing since sliced bread, I never believed one word he said, he isn’t even competent (don’t make me laugh) and I have never had enough patience to even look at his face much less for his policies.

You can only blame the previous admin. for so long. The guy on Fox and Friends this morning said 2 years you can blame the peeps before ya. I think that’s awfully lenient. I say MAYBE a year. And Obama is a year past the year of blame. Maybe he needs to become an adult (Let’s learn he rules of life Ob!) and take a little bit of responsibility for the economy. I mean, he is our president after all (and I say that loosely. He doesn’t act much like a president).

Obama is asking for patience because he realizes he has failed. I think this was his Hail Mary. “PEOPLE OF AMERICA! I know I have failed you but I am just SO fabulous that I expect a million do-overs. I need your patience because, let’s face it, I’m Barack Obama.” And then you hear crickets. And then you hear me in the back laughing my BUTT off, rolling on the floor, tears streaming down my face. I can just see the scene now… And then everyone else would start laughing. And Barack would get laughed off stage. Oh! Sweet dreams.

Ok sorry. Back to the article…. Got a little off topic there. 😛

A recession doesn’t fix itself over night… **Checks calendar.** It’s been two years since this recession began… I don’t know about you, but if two years is overnight for you, you have probably been in a coma and should see a doctor.

He goes on to blab about how we need to create more jobs. Now… this is where I really start to get aggravated because wasn’t the stimulus plan supposed to create jobs? How many of billions and trillions of dollars was that again? And how many jobs did we actually create? We created a few government jobs, a few private sector jobs, and then lost a few hundred thousand private sector jobs. Success? I think a resounding NO.

So maybe you can see why I’m not so patient with Obama anymore. He talks in circles, and this again, proves his hypocrisy. If only I was smart enough to start a list of his lies. Maybe I still will.

Yours,

Lucy

Oh My.

I have many liberal friends. In fact, most of my friends are liberal. And they are one of the main reasons I started this blog. So I will be putting one of them on the spot in this blog. Their name has been omitted, for obvious reasons.

This is their Facebook status: when did saying “I like the President” turn into something so terrible as to make it almost reprehensible? I wonder if it’s because he’s Liberal, or because he’s black, or maybe just because he scares them because of how much he wants to change this country for the better…either way he’s a hell of a lot better than the alternative.

There are obvious flaws with this status. It’s taking all of the self-control I can muster not to comment on this status and start a FB debate (I have done that multiple times before.) But I know I’ll win the debate, so it’s not really worth it. Instead, I’ll blog my thoughts you to lovely folks.

HOW STUPID IS THIS?! Seriously, my friend, you need to open your brain and let the light in. Let’s dust out the cobwebs here…

Obama has done NOTHING. Let me repeat this for those of you who are hard of hearing. OBAMA has done NOTHING to help out country.

His stimulus plan was a dud. Cash for clunkers was a failure. How’s his health care plan doing? How’s unemployment? How’s the deficit that he swore would be reduced by half before his first term was over?

Yeah… I rest my case.

It’s not terrible to simply say “I like the president.” I’m sure he would be a decent guy on the golf course or out shooting some hoops or a good guy to consult for your March Madness basketball stuff.

But as a politician who holds the fate of this great country in his hands, he has to be… I don’t even know. An incompetent, not helpful, thing? Honestly. What EXACTLY has he DONE  since he’s been in office? I would LOVE for you to tell me… Somebody! Anybody! GIVE ME ANSWERS!

He certainly is liberal, can’t lie with that.

He’s, ummm, black? Correction. He is half black. More correctly he is “mixed race.” Let’s, again, get our facts straight. That’s an easy one… And one thing I don’t understand that relates to this black comment… In a world that wants to eliminate race, how come it’s always shoved in our faces? Oh! We have a black president! If skin color didn’t matter, then how come we give it so much emphasis? Just some food for thought. I like challenging y’all.

I don’t know about y’all, but I am scared of Obama. Definitely. I’m scared that he has people believing that he wants to change people for the better. I’m scared that he still has followers. I’m scared that people still like him. I’m scared of the ideas he is able to concoct. I’m scared of our deficit. I’m scared of the unemployment rates. I’m scared of him being reelected into office in 2012. I’m scared of the stupidity of some people (of my friends!). I’m scared of the direction our country is going under Obama. I’m scared of ObamaCare. I’m scared of what our taxes could look like in a few years.

Another question… What in the world is the alternative? If Obama is better than it, then it must be Hitler or a scary, 3-headed monster that is going to eat all Americans. Lol.

I don’t think this is what my dear friend means. If I had to guess, the alternative is the Republicans, the Tea-Partiers, the *gasp* CONSERVATIVES!!! Oooooh, the horrors! Save us all! Obama! Where is our savior?!

Good grief. When I heard S.E. Cupp speak, she said something extremely profound… (It’s paraphrased a little, but you’ll get the gist.) “We are all born conservative. We don’t want to pay high taxes or be indebted to the government or have our lives controlled by others who think they have the right to control it.” Well said, S.E. Who in their right mind (no pun intended) wants to have their lives controlled by other people? Not me, say I. I think I’ll run my own life, thanks.

If only my thick friends and all other liberals out there were smart enough to think the same way… Ahhh. Sweet wishes.
