Campus Ministry Drops “Christ”

Let me ask y’all one question. How can you have a campus christian ministry, that preaches the great word of God, that is ashamed of having Christ in the ministry’s name?

Ya can’t.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/07/21/campus-ministry-drops-christ-from-name/?test=latestnews

I find this story very interesting because there is a Campus Crusades for Christ at my university. They are huge, in fact. I believe that it is the biggest ┬áChristian student organization on campus. And I will see first hand the decision to change its name to “Cru.”

Cru. What is Cru? It’s absolutely nothing. It’s meaningless.

The Vice President was interviewed in this article about the name change. The group’s decision to change its name is laughable.

Let’s go through the reasons.

  • The name was getting in the way of accomplishing their mission. (Which is? How was it getting in the way?)
  • Christians and non-Christians like were being alienated by the name (By the name of Christ? Which is who you preach for? Interesting… And why were they feeling alienated? In what ways?)
  • Overseas sensitivity (Sensitivities to what? Sellers doesn’t expand on this point.)
  • It was becoming a hindrance because people were referring it back to the middle ages- forcing Christianity on the world (Christ’s name as a hindrance? I would like to know how many people feel offended hearing the word “crusade”)
  • Taking Christ out of their name would help them more effectively serve their mission and teach the Gospels
  • It will enable them to have conversations with people who would otherwise be turned off by a more “overtly Christian name.”
This last point that Sellers makes is extremely laughable. They cry, “Oh. Taking Christ out of our name doesn’t change our mission!” Well, it kind of does. It seems as if the Campus Crusades for Christ is embarrassed by having Christ in their name. They’re a bunch of pansies. They’re cowardly. They’re being oh so politically correct. They’ve completely lost it.
They are no longer a voice for the Word of God or for Christ. Jesus said, “For is anyone is ashamed of me and my words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when he comes in his own glory and in the glory of the Father and his holy angels.” (Luke 9:26)
“Because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.” (Revelations 3:16)
The former Campus Crusades for Christ are lukewarm. They are ashamed of Jesus and his word. They are pitiful beings with no spines. I hope they receive a wake up call soon.
And I do hope and pray that students at my university will look for a new ministry that is more committed to Jesus Christ. Maybe the Catholic Campus Ministry. čÖé

The 10 Yr. Old

I love this video of Rep. Joe Walsh on a CNN show speaking about Obama. He describes the President as a “ten-year old” who is “in over his head.” Can’t say I disagree.

He makes some other great points as well. Obama doesn’t like to take any criticism and gets awfully defensive when people question his policies and what he has actually accomplished as President. If he had accomplished something, I don’t think Obama would get so defensive. But he hasn’t, and he knows it, and now he’s putting on a front that it close to tumbling down.

Walsh also mentions his golfing and how he really has no right to question where the Republicans have been when he has been hard to find in the White House.

Hope you guys enjoy listening to Walsh speak as much as I did.

Legalizing “Love”

Oh, New York.

How disappointed I am in you.

New York has apparently jumped on the band wagon and legalized gay “marriage.”

I know that I have blogged about this gay marriage before, so I won’t go into it too much… but this is just ridiculous. I guess I will just never understand the arguments of liberals. And call me old fashion, but heck people, marriage is between one man and one woman. It has been that way since the beginning of time. You don’t need a religious argument to prove that there cannot be a marriage between two people of the same-sex.

The law passed the New York Congress with the support of 4 Republican Senators and 1 Democratic Senator who voted against it (good for you).

44 States still do not allow same-sex marriage, and 30 of those 44 states have BANNED gay marriage. Let’s hope that the remaining 14 states soon do the same.

A man and a woman is essential for the creation of life. A child needs a mother and a father, not two mothers and not two fathers. Why do you think it requires a man and woman to create life? Happenstance? Just a mistake?

The traditional family is being thrown out the window, almost literally. There is no respect for traditional marriages. There is no respect for the children. Gay Rights activists are lying through their teeth when they say that people who don’t allow them to love the person they love are homophobes, or they don’t care for the rights of all people or want equality throughout the country. Or that it doesn’t hurt anyone when gay marriage is legalized. And most of us are too dumb to see their weak arguments.

The Human Rights Campaign is falsely named. Their organization isn’t for the rights of all human people; it’s for the selfish desires that benefit just a few people.

So, now we have New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Iowa, Connecticut, and Massachusetts that have “legalized love.” (Give me a break.)

I don’t think I’ll be moving to New England anytime soon. Or Iowa.

Reagan on Democrats

Got this clip in an email from my Grandpa. (Thanks Gramps!) And I thought, “I just HAVE to share that with those nice folks who follow my blog.”
And so here I am doing just that. I hope you all find it funny. If you don’t, then there is just something seriously wrong with you.

Let’s Blame Bush Again!

Is Obama not grown-up enough to understand that he cannot blame Bush for all of his problems?

Oh so high and mighty President Barrack Obama has been blaming the previous administration for every single economic problem that has plagued our country.

So, now it’s getting on my nerves to the point where I am going to blog about it, so that everyone can know just exactly how I feel.

Here we go. As always I do have a article for you.

I don’t know what y’all think, but the title says it all for me. “Obama PLEADS for Patience on Economic Recovery.”

Patience, Obama? ┬áReally? Honestly? You’re serious? Pah-lease.

Of course he is serious. The dude, excuse me, the Mr. Dude President expects us to 1) bow down before him like he is the savior, 2) believe all the lies that emit from the hole in his face, 3) trust that he is competent enough to run this GREAT country, and 4) wait around for him to do whatever he dern well pleases.

Uuuuummmmm, no thank you?

I am done pretending he is the greatest thing since sliced bread, I never believed one word he said, he isn’t even competent (don’t make me laugh) and I have never had enough patience to even look at his face much less for his policies.

You can only blame the previous admin. for so long. The guy on Fox and Friends this morning said 2 years you can blame the peeps before ya. I think that’s awfully lenient. I say MAYBE a year. And Obama is a year past the year of blame. Maybe he needs to become an adult (Let’s learn he rules of life Ob!) and take a little bit of responsibility for the economy. I mean, he is our president after all (and I say that loosely. He doesn’t act much like a president).

Obama is asking for patience because he realizes he has failed. I think this was his Hail Mary. “PEOPLE OF AMERICA! I know I have failed you but I am just SO fabulous that I expect a million do-overs. I need your patience because, let’s face it, I’m Barack Obama.” And then you hear crickets. And then you hear me in the back laughing my BUTT off, rolling on the floor, tears streaming down my face. I can just see the scene now… And then everyone else would start laughing. And Barack would get laughed off stage. Oh! Sweet dreams.

Ok sorry. Back to the article…. Got a little off topic there. čśŤ

A recession doesn’t fix itself over night… **Checks calendar.** It’s been two years since this recession began… I don’t know about you, but if two years is overnight for you, you have probably been in a coma and should see a doctor.

He goes on to blab about how we need to create more jobs. Now… this is where I really start to get aggravated because wasn’t the stimulus plan supposed to create jobs? How many of billions and trillions of dollars was that again? And how many jobs did we actually create? We created a few government jobs, a few private sector jobs, and then lost a few hundred thousand private sector jobs. Success? I think a resounding NO.

So maybe you can see why I’m not so patient with Obama anymore. He talks in circles, and this again, proves his hypocrisy. If only I was smart enough to start a list of his lies. Maybe I still will.

Yours,

Lucy

The Weiner Follow-Up

Bahahaha….
Weiner admits sending out the picture of his…um… wiener. As if we believed him when he said he couldn’t say whether or not that was a picture of him. What a tool.
And! He’s not resigning. Such a double standard in our society.

OBL Pics a No Go

Found out this morning that Obama will not be releasing the pictures of the dead Osama bin Laden.

I’m slightly angered by this. I feel that as an American citizen I have the right to see a picture of the dead Osama bin Laden. I have the right to see the man who master minded the September 11th attacks on our country (God bless those heroes’ souls). Do I not have the right to see a picture of the worlds most known terrorist dead? The man who was no. 1 on the FBI’s Most Wanted List?

Apparently, Obama doesn’t think so.

Since I don’t have a radio in my dorm room, every once in a while I read the transcripts from Rush Limbaugh’s show. And he made an interested point today.

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_050411/content/01125108.guest.html

He said that the reason Obama is not releasing the photos is to distract the American people from the economy, from gas prices, from slow job growth, etc. According to Jake Tapper of ABC News, “President Obama is increasingly doubtful that there’s a compelling reason to release a photograph of Osama Bin Laden’s corpse…” Is he now?

I guess I just don’t understand this. Whats the confusing part here Obama? How do you not see a “compelling reason” to show your American citizens, the people you are supposed to be representing and helping, the death of the man who led the attack on our country?

“Meanwhile, sources say, Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are advising the president about concerns at the Pentagon and State Department that releasing a photograph could prompt a backlash against the US for killing bin Laden where one does not seem to currently exist.” Just. Wow. Honestly? There’s no threat of a backlash against us from Al Qaeda after we killed their leader? Now that’s a lie. I mean, I’m not in the armed forces, I don’t work for the CIA or the FBI. I don’t have security clearance. But doesn’t that just seem like common sense? Common sense that we killed a leader of Al Qaeda, and OBL’s followers are now going to want to retaliate and avenge his death? Seems logical to me. But I’m just a little college student… What do I know, right?

The rest of Rush’s transcript is hilarious. I’d really urge you all to read it if you have some free time.

I’d really like to see these pictures. I’d like to see the DNA. Not so much because I’m skeptical that Osama is dead. Not it at all. I just like physical proof. I like seeing things for myself. I’d rather not have to just rely on Obama’s word. So release the pics Barack. Release the pics.

~Lucy

Take my poll! Should Obama release the pictures of Osama bin Laden dead?
